Manual Adjusta-Bow Roller Minimize

The Manual Adjusta-Bow Roller has a shaft that permits changing the amount of spreading effect of the roller by use of a ratchet wrench that is provided. The spreading effect is similar to the fixed bow roller, but the amount of spreading can be varied by changing the radius of curvature. The adjustment range for the manual adjusta-bow roller would be 0-3% of the roller face length. For example, a roller with a 100" face length would have a working range of 0" to 3" of bow. This is also referred to as changing the amount of bow of the roller. This roller is valuable for use on webs that require a very precise amount of spreading (i.e. slit separation and light gauge films). If more than one type of web material is to be spread, or if the material has large variations in thickness and/or width, or if the material is sensitive to temperature or humidity, the adjusta-bow roller is normally recommended. The spreading effect of the roller can be adjusted as desired while the web is running at full speed.

The Manual Adjusta-Bow Roller is only available in roller sizes of 5.125" diameter and smaller, and on the 6.3" diameter roller with a 1.75" or 2" diameter shaft.

A manual Adjusta-Bow roller allows the operator to improve the performance of the bowed roller by adjusting the amount of bow. The Adjusta-Bow is recommended when it is difficult to predict the spreading requirements due to variables encountered on machines that run different grades, types and weights of materials.

Hydraulic Adjusta-Bow Roller Minimize

The hydraulic adjusta-bow roller has a shaft that permits changing the amount of spreading effect of the roller by use of a hydraulic hand pump that is provided. The spreading effect is similar to the fixed bow roller, but the amount of spreading can be varied by changing the radius of curvature. The adjustment range for the hydraulic adjusta-bow roller would be 0-3% of the roller face length. This roller is only available in roller sizes of 3.5" diameter and larger.

REDI-BOW Roller Minimize

The REDI-BOW roller is a modified hydraulic adjusta-bow roller that has a digital display unit that shows the actual amount of bow throughout it working range. Like the hydraulic adjusta-bow roller, the REDI-BOW roller has a shaft that permits changing the amount of spreading effect of the roller by use of a hydraulic hand pump that is provided. The spreading effect is similar to the fixed bow roller, but the amount of spreading can be varied by changing the radius of curvature. The adjustment range for the REDI-BOW roller would be 0-3% of the roller face length. This roller is only available in roller sizes of 3.5" diameter and larger.

Multi-Axle Roller Minimize

The multi-axle roller is similar to the fixed bow roller such that it has a curved-axis shaft that is formed to a uniform radius. However, the shaft of the multi-axle roller is divided in the center and pivoted so that each section can be rotated independently. The multi-axle roller can be used to correct single slack edges or to equalize the tension from one face to the other. When rolls are rewound, this roller can be used to equalize uneven tensions within the web. This roller lends itself to the automated approach to web spreading and warp spacing. These rollers are used almost exclusively in the manufacturing of tire cord.

Roller Design Options Minimize
Teflon Sleeve
Applied Roller Technology offers an optional Teflon outer shrink fit tube for maximum release. The Teflon sleeve fits over the bowed roll rubber cover and provides release properties unattainable with conventional roll cover materials.

Grooving
To ensure sheet-to-roll contact at higher speeds Applied Roller Technology offers a variety of grooving configurations. Standard circumferential grooves, chevron pattern or spiral grooving eliminates air boundaries that can create sheet flotation.

Sheaves
Applied Roller Technology bowed rolls are available with single or multiple V-belt drives, timing belts, free wheeling rope and fixed rope sheaves, as well as special sheaves to meet your specific needs.

Mounting Brackets
On bowed rolls 7 1/8” and smaller, cast iron pillow block mounting brackets are standard. Bowed rolls 10 1/2” and larger as well as all hydraulicaaly actuated Adjusta-Bow rolls are supplied with pillow block rotatable brackets, which are also available on smaller rolls. Special modified brackets are available to meet your specific needs.
