Plane of Bow Adjustments

Plane of Bow Settings: (spreading or expanding normal material) Minimize

Plane of Bow Settings

The recommended plane of bow setting for spreading or expanding normal material is to adjust the plane of bow to lay PERPENDICULAR to the BISECTOR of the WRAP ANGLE. In this position, the web will travel equally in the center and on the edges.

NOTE: The BOW DIRECTION should always point in the direction of the travel of the web of material.

PLANE OF BOW SETTINGS: (compensating for material with a baggy center) Minimize

Baggy Center

This illustrates the plane of bow adjustment to compensate for material that has a baggy center. By turning the plane of bow INTO the web of material, the center of the material will travel in a longer path than the edges. This induces more tension on the center of the web of material making it easier to process.

PLANE OF BOW SETTINGS: (compensating for material with loose edges) Minimize

 Loose Edges

This illustrates the plane of bow adjustment to compensate for material that has loose edges. By turning the plane of bow AWAY from the web of material, the edges of the material will travel in a longer path than the center. This induces more tension on the edges of the web of material making it easier to process.
